I was inspired to create 365 Days of Pugs by my friend Toby.  His friend Noah Scalin wrote a book called: 365: A Daily Creativity Journal, Make Something Everyday and Change Your Life!  I enjoyed looking at and reading Toby’s projects throughout 2011, and kept thinking about what I would have done for that day.  Most of the ideas involved my pug, Eloise, or pugs in general.  (Yes, they are a bit of an obsession . . . but any pug owner will empathize. . . )  So, the plan is to base all 365 days of projects on pugs in some way, shape, or form.

Now that 2012 is over and 365 Days of Pugs is complete, 2013 brings a new project. I’m going try WordPress’s Weekly Photo Challenge.  Each participant creates a photo to illustrate the weekly theme. The intention is to make many photos pug- or Eloise-related, but to give her – and me- a break from daily projects.

Near the end of 2014, Eloise crossed the rainbow bridge. The goal for 2014 is to continue to participate in the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenges; I’m on the lookout for a successor pug who enjoys being in front of a camera as much as Eloise.

Thanks, Jes! Looking forward to seeing your pups grow! 🙂

They seem to be growing before my very eyes, and at rather an alarming rate!
With the amount of photographs I have of my little puglets I think I have enough to post a different picture each day for the next ten years, and they are not even 16 weeks of age!

I am in love with your blog! God, what a heartwarming and cute idea! I find that pugs are the easiest dogs to photograph. They are always smiling! I didn’t realize this until I photographed my first dog show. Here’s a link to the article. Scroll down to find the pic of the pug. http://arkansaspetgazette.com/2012/02/20/grace-strength-and-beauty-the-camden-dog-show/

I’m so glad you visited my page so I could find this blog!! I love pugs and have 2 of my own…I’m trying to convince my husband to get a ‘Pug Life’ tattoo (2Pac style) with a portrait of our dogs…he’s not so convinced. Can’t wait to read more about the bestest dog breed ever known to man 🙂

I was out walking once and two (loose) pugs found me. They forced me to sit down on a bench and kissed me like crazy. My husband was with me and thought it was hysterical! I’ve had a soft spot for pugs ever since (though I don’t own one…I have cats). Don’t worry…we found where they lived and took them home!

    • puglife says:

Haha! That sounds very pug-like, though you clearly had the touch with them. Eloise “adopts” a person each time we go to the dog park and won’t let him/her stop petting her. Guessing she would do that with you, too. Hope your cats didn’t get too jealous over the pug smells! 😉

    Great header photo!

  16. Akkbar89 says:

Thank you for the like. Does Eloise follow you where ever you go? Smokey Joe does unless he recuperating on top the sofa after a long day of barking at strangers.

    • puglife says:

She used to. Now that she is 13 she is less likely to unless I am headed toward the kitchen. 😉 One of her favorite spots is on top of the sofa, too.

  17. Good for you-I look forward to seeing where this year’s challenge will take you and Miss Eloise-

    • puglife says:

Thank you! we are both relieved not to be doing a project a day any longer, though Eloise misses the edible incentive that accompanied them. I was noticing today that she was looking a tad thinner, not to say thin. She is a pug after all. 🙂

HI, I nominated you for Very Inspiring Blogger award here http://praguebykaty.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/praguebykaty100/, beacuse I think your blog is really brilliant.

  19. mrscarmichael says:

I LOVE this idea for a blog – hmmmmm

    • puglife says:

It was fun, and I am very happy to have done it, but also happy it’s complete. It’s a big commitment to do something daily- and really challenging to stick with a theme. Eloise misses the edible incentives that came with each project and has lost a bit of weight this year… 🙂

  20. So the visitor to my blog was not a typing dog. I’m off for a mosey round your photos!

  21. aliewsMuses says:

Thank you for liking my photo post. Really like a lot of your photo work!

  22. Chris Donner says:

So glad I found you. I have two pugs, both rescued dogs, and they are fabulous. Pug lovers are fanatics, aren’t we? 🙂

  23. Aw! Poor Eloise! My pug, Duke, crossed the rainbow bridge some years ago but he lives on in my blog with my still alive pug, Dr. Chazz. Cool blog! Pugs And Kisses has sort of daily stuff sometimes I forget.
