Day 301: Hurricane Pug

Today’s project was to pick a random date in history and make something based on the research of that day.

Eloise’s birthday, August 24, was the date of choice. On this day in 1992, hurricane Andrew made landfall in Florida. That event inspired this. Oh, and Sandy, too. . .

Thank you to Cole for braving the elements to take this picture at the beach today.

Hope you & Eloise stay dry (and with power!) during Sandy! Assume you’re not making the trek to CT for work? Trains even running??

No public transportation at all. The NYSE is closed, too. No work today! It feels like a Holiday, despite the bad weather. Eloise and I have stocked up on our baking supplies, so you may see some of the results posted. Eloise is grateful that her teeth cleaning, which had been scheduled for today, has been cancelled. 🙂

Meanwhile, my crazy pet is out in the wind & rain, hunting…..Successfully, alas….
Halloween baking treats? I’m making s’mores brownie bars for friends later this week (eggless brownies to boot – food allergies, not mine….)

LOL! Any presents for you? How bad is it there?
        Eggless brownies? Curious.
Yes, Halloween cookies, maybe some pug shaped ones too. 🙂

Spending weekend with college friends – one has a child allergic to egg & egg products, so I said I’d make the eggless brownies – I’ve made before for a friend with cholesterol issues – not bad – vegan too, as long as I use veggie oil and not butter. We have wind, and gusts up to 50mph, a little rain – not very bad here at all (I’ve seen limbs down but hopefully not too bad….) I heard the Hudson is already overflowing?

  3. Kelly says:

Oh – the cat doesn’t so much leave us presents anymore, except for the bits she doesn’t want…..
