Day 213: First Aid Pug

Today’s project was to use only things found in a first-aid kit.

Eloise has had her share of medical issues in the past 12 plus years.  In fact, there have been so many that her pet insurance company asked me to write a testimonial. . .

One of the more traumatic of these took place about five years ago in Central Park.  A group of us were enjoying the off-leash hours of the park with our dogs early one Sunday morning (yes, these medical emergencies always seem to happen off hours) when Eloise decided to say hello to a man sitting on a bench.  His black lab, seated beneath him, didn’t welcome the attention that his master was bestowing on the pug and promptly bit Eloise in her left eye.  Needless to say, the stroll through the park soon became a race to the animal hospital.  Fortunately, the teeth missed Eloise’s eyeball.  She does, however, bear a mark from the encounter in her lower eyelid.

In memory of that event, I placed a couple of bandages over Eloise’s left eye.  She made quick work of removing them.

Tell Eloise I am glad her eye didn’t get hurt. I, Bosun Dawg, had my eye socket ripped open by Beautiful Joe. Thankfully, Joe’s teeth missed my eyeball.
